Can you use regular polish over semi-permanent polish?

CAN I APPLY REGULAR NAIL POLISH OVER PERMANENT NAIL POLISH?

There is a chance that wearing the same nail color and design for more than two weeks may not suit your needs due to special circumstances that may arise, such as: events, work issues, meetings, a specific dress code , having to wear a certain outfit or uniform... You may experience times when your permanent nail color does not suit a specific occasion and you have to change it, or you simply want to give it a twist and add some temporary decoration.

Whatever your case, whether you want to temporarily change the colour of your nails, or simply want to add a temporary decoration, you are probably wondering: can you put normal nail polish on top of semi-permanent nail polish? At Manicura24 we have the answer: yes!

Unlike permanent nail polishes , air-dry nail polishes (or regular nail polishes) do not require a lamp to dry. As their name suggests, these nail polishes dry when they come into contact with the air, although they may take several minutes to dry completely. TIPS FOR PAINTING REGULAR ENAMEL OVER SEMI-PERMANENT ENAMEL

You refuse to remove your spectacular permanent manicure (which we totally understand) and you don't know how to hide that striking colour. Air-dry nail polish is your best option! We'll show you how to apply normal nail polish over permanent nail polish:

• Choose an air-dry nail polish in the color you want.
  
• Apply a coat of this nail polish over your permanent nail polish manicure and let it air dry.
  
• If the colors are very different from each other, you may need a second coat of nail polish . Before applying, make sure the first coat has dried completely.
  
• If you want to add shine , apply an air-dry finisher such as Top Coat .

HOW TO APPLY TOP COAT OVER REGULAR NAIL POLISH FOR LONGER LASTING?

The top coat that you should apply over a normal (or air-dry) polish should also be air-dry. This gloss layer will protect the color a little more and prevent it from coming off so easily. You cannot use UV top coat over normal polish , since the nail is not previously prepared with semi-permanent polish products, it will not adhere or provide durability to the polish. So if you were wondering if you can use normal polish and semi-permanent top coat , our answer is no.

HOW TO REMOVE REGULAR NAIL POLISH FROM OVER PERMANENT NAIL POLISH?

Once you want to remove the air-dry nail polish to enjoy your permanent manicure again, it is important to keep one thing in mind: use acetone-free nail polish remover . This way, you will be able to remove the air-dry nail polish without damaging the permanent nail polish underneath.

Removing air-dry polish is quick and easy:

• Soak a small piece of cosmetic cotton with acetone-free nail polish remover .
  
• Pass the cotton over each nail in the same direction as growth, that is, starting from the cuticle area to the free edge.
  
• Repeat this operation until there is no trace of the nail polish color left and you can fully see your permanent manicure.
